Cats are not as gifted with the sense of smell as dogs are. Cats scratch with their claws to keep them manicured. Most cats are great mousers. They are mainly nocturnal. Besides mice, birds are high up on a cat's menu. Cats are the number one enemy of dogs. Older cats are very content to bask in the sun or simply sleep away the daylight hours. Cats are curious creatures. There are more than two hundred different species of house cats.
