14. ~ Cardinal ~

The Cardinals are the professional football team for Arizona! Cardinals are known as the scarlet singers. This bright red vision has a beautiful song. To Native Americans, this scarlet creature gave its 'second' gift to many nations - its wonderful red feathers. Both male and female cardinals whistle their loud communication. They diet on seeds, insects and suet. Their eggs hatch quickly withing twelve days. Both the male and the female share in the incubation period. The males will fiercely defend their territory. The red fall berries of the dogwood are where a cardinal gets its colour. If it ate foods of fewer pigments, its colour would fade. They love sunflower seeds. Their song is cheer-cheer-cheer. Their hat is a crest of feathers. A cardinal is a perching bird, meaning 'sparrow-shaped' and a singer. Northern cardinals have about twenty-five different songs. A cardinal's 'first' gift is that once it comes to visit and feed near you, it will seldom ever leave.

Medicine:

The first message of cardinal medicine is to add more colour to your life. The redness of this bird reminds us of Valentine's, which speaks to us of a heart connection. Cardinals tell us it is a time of vitality and renewal. The speak to us of wealth in our environment. They teach us to be good parents. A cardinal reminds us to cooperate with others. To receive their medicine says it is time to use a healthy dose of creativity. The cardinal teaches us 'not' to be afraid to make a bold appearance. Also, we should watch for the number twelve to be prominent in our life, 12 hours, 12 days, 12 minutes, or 12 years. One should always record the date and time that the cardinal shows up in our life. Ask yourself if there is a past life connection to someone when it appears. Are you showing your best colours in a beneficial manner? Are you remembering to sing a cheerful tune? The cardinal reminds us to add a variety of music to our journey. It may also say it is time to thrust some romance into our lives. The cardinal tells us to get intimate! Lastly, this red bird sings to us, get out of the house and have some fun!
